Shawna S. Brent, M.D.
Shawna S. Brent, M.D., is a Board Certified Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatrist. She has a private practice in Lemoyne, PA, where she primarily treats children, adolescents and young adults. Her approach includes a thorough assessment of the biological, psychological and social contributors. She has a passion for delivering mental health care in a variety of settings including public schools, alternative schools and recently at Dickinson University.
Dr. Brent graduated from the University of Delaware and went on to obtain her medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. She completed an internship in psychiatry, neurology and general medicine at University Hospitals of Cleveland. Additional residency training in Adult Psychiatry occurred at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Allegheny University Hospital. Her Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency, including time as Chief Resident, was completed at University Hospitals of Cleveland.
In addition to clinical practice she enjoys the opportunity to work as a member of a treatment team. This collaboration has occurred in hospital settings and school settings. She enjoys sharing her knowledge with other disciplines who also work with children. This occurs through informal and formal collaboration as well as lectures.
